Fire Fighting Pipe Installation
Hazard
And
Safety Precaution
Pipeline Construction Risk Assessment
Chipping, Argon Welding, Cutting, and Grinding
Hazard for Chipping, Argon Welding, Cutting, and Grinding
- Skin burns
- Eye injury
- Injury on body
- Inhalation
Safety Precaution for Chipping, Argon Welding, Cutting, and Grinding:
- The welding machine should
properly with grounded.
- Never weld without adequate
ventilation & illumination.
- Never do any welding, cutting,
hot work on used drums, barrels, tanks, or other flammable fill/empty
containers.
- Trained Firewatchers must be at the exact work location with a fire blanket and extinguisher. do not allow workers assigned to fire watchers.
- Do not dispose of hot slag in containers holding combustible material.
- Provide a ventilator with a flexible duct on the welding area directed outside the building.
- Fire extinguishers should be available anytime.
- use approved fire blanket Only
- Use a suitable handcart with a
chain lock for moving cylinders. Secure the cylinder to it. Do not roll or drag cylinders.
- Provide safety supervision for outside contractors conducting hot work. Inform contractors about site-specific hazards including the presence of flammable materials.
- Mandatory PPE must and also
working in argon welding PPE a need to have flame-retardant clothing
(FRC), apron, face shield, leather gloves, and welding respirator.
Failure of using Hand & Power Tools in a safe way
Hazard for Failure of using Hand & Power
- Electrocution
- Flying object
- Cutting
- Hearing losses
- Inhalation of hazardous
materials
Safety Precaution of Failure of using Hand & Power
- All portable power tools must with a spring-loaded witch (dead man switch) which will actuate only when pressed. The switch must be free from any locking arrangement.
- Power tools & Electrical leads to be protected by suitably rated ELCB/RCD max. 30mA (in a
distribution box).
- Remove portable electric tools from the workplace if damaged, and attach a “Do Not Use” tag.
- All tools & equipment must be color-coded & inspected for damage before use.
- Tools stored in designated areas when not in use.
- Do not use fabricated and damaged tools.
- Ensure that all tools fitted with the manufacture supplied handles and guards.
- Disconnect power tools before servicing and changing accessories such as blades, bits, and cutters.
- All power tools shall comply with HEC regulation.
- Users should never operate power tools without protecting eyes with safety glasses, goggles, and a
face shield over it. If the material being worked on will produce a lot of dust or other particles, he shall wear a dust mask or filter respirator.
Working at Height Hazard for Working at Height:
- Falls from height
- Falling of objects or tools
- Defective ladder
- Structure falling down or
collapse
- Physical injury
- Overloading the scaffold
platform
- Slipping the unsecured
ladder
Safety precautions for Working at Height:
- Use safety harness above 1.8m
with a double lanyard with snap hook, safety helmet with chin strap.
- Required tools for work connected with workers in a lanyard.
- The red tag shall be in place during erecting scaffolding, dismantling & Modification.
- Use a green tagged scaffold only with TPC.
- Make sure 100% tie-off which shall be always in shoulder level height.
- Guard rails and mid-rails
should be in place.
- Do not carry any
tools/materials while climbing and descending (Use 3 point contact
techniques).
- Only trained and certified scaffolders will erect, Modify, and dismantle scaffolds.
- To ensure ladder being tie off to strong structure.
- Secure materials, provision of toe boards, and debris netting on scaffolds or elevated platforms.
- The person working on the platform shall be aware of its intended supporting capacity and not overload.
- No person will modify, erect or dismantle the scaffold except authorized scaffolders.
- Do not exceed the vertical or horizontal reach limit or the specified loading capacity of the platform.
- A fall protection plan shall be provided and approved.
- Do not modify Stabilizer, base
stopper, and manufacturer system components for a mobile scaffold
- the mobile scaffolding wheels
locked when using
- the scaffolding inspector
should inspect the mobile scaffolding every 7 days
- The mobile scaffold shall not be moved when a person is on it.
- Do not storage materials on the
scaffolding
- To ensure, buddy system applies during working with the ladder.
